About Doulas of Kew

Tama, Saffron and Selina are the Doulas of Kew, supporting families in and around West London, Southwest London and Surrey.

We share a passion for supporting, empowering and caring for new parents and parents-to-be. Supporting you and your family emotionally, physically and practically through pregnancy, birth and the fourth trimester.
We regularly work alongside all the local midwifery teams, at home and the hospital to support people to birth however and wherever they choose. We believe that you deserve to feel positive and empowered by your birth experience.

We are here to help you rock your birth!

At Doulas of Kew we love to provide shared care support. Shared care essentially means that you get two doulas for the price of one! You get all the benefits of our collective experience and get to know and feel comfortable with both of us ahead of your birth.  It also means that should labour last a long time we can swap over so that you always have a fresh doula by your side. You have greater peace of mind that if one of us becomes unwell or has to attend to family emergencies you will not be left without the support of someone you already know and feel relaxed with. We run the birth preparation sessions together, and also the first postnatal visit after birth, so that we can all get to know each other really well. On the big day, whoever is most readily available will join you for the birth of your baby and the first few hours afterwards. We love working this way!

"I live in Isleworth with my rugby-mad injury rehabilitation specialist husband, Michael, our little boy and two dogs Georgie & Zuri. I’m half Moroccan, half English and grew up in Kew, which up until very recently was still home. Feel very lucky I'm still super local.

When I'm not supporting my awesome clients, I usually have a coffee in my hand and a dog lead in the other. You'll often find me off on an adventure walk with my little boy and our fluffy dogs in Chiswick House & Gardens or Richmond park (aren't we lucky to have these beautiful places on our door step)!!

If you spot me, come say hi!

I’m a doula because I love supporting people to birth parent their babies in their own way! To feel empowered, informed, respected and supported to have the most positive birthing experience they can. Whether they want to birth with an epidural in a hospital delivery suite or dangling from a tree in their garden, it doesn’t matter to me! As long as its right for them and that their choices didn’t come from a place of fear, but rather from a place of power!"

"I live in Hanworth with my husband and our two children (we also share our home with three cats and a dog). I trained as a doula while my youngest was still a baby, in 2015, and have been supporting clients ever since. I love providing my clients with continuity of care, helping them to explore their options, and understand and access all the information they need to make informed choices. Every person deserves to feel positively about their birth experiences and I believe it is the little things that add up to make a big difference.

I spend most of my time hanging out with my children in cool places like museums, galleries and parks. We home educate so I’m really lucky to get to spend lots of time with them. When I’m not with the kids or my clients you can usually find me curled up in the corner with a good book and a big cup of tea!"

"I live in Fulham with my husband, 4 children and our dog Milo so our house is a pretty lively place at times.  Our children are 19, 12, 9 and 6 years old so we have a wide spectrum of stages going on from learning to read, practising life skills, gaining more independence, dating and moving away from home!

I have always had a keen interest in pregnancy, birth and babies and since having my own children and supporting some friends through their births I have become even more passionate about women feeling empowered to make the right choices for them and feel supported through their pregnancies, births and beyond.  I love being a doula and being able to support new parents and parents to be during such a special time is an absolute honour and privilege.  The baby cuddles are a huge perk of the job too!

When I’m not on doula duty I love to learn new crafts, bake, read, watch box sets, have friends over for dinner or go on a cheeky mid-week cinema date with my husband when the children are at school."
